About this plant
Bay laurel is the shrub of structure: its leathery, deep glossy green leaves hold all year and accept the strictest clipping. Two standards frame an entrance; a free hedge closes a garden; a cone defines a terrace.
Native to the Mediterranean basin, it tolerates heat, wind and chalky soil. Its leaves, picked in passing, are those of Moroccan cooking.
Note: they are toxic to dogs and cats.
