About this plant
Pittosporum tobira forms dense, even hedges whose rounded leaves, arranged in rosettes, keep a glossy green all year. In spring its small cream flowers scent the air with a note of orange blossom; in autumn its fruit splits to reveal orange seeds.
It is the shrub of seaside gardens: it fears neither wind, nor salt spray, nor sandy soils. Clipped square or left as loose mounds, it draws calm masses that set off more graphic specimens.
A sober, reliable green structure, for the villas of Dar Bouazza and the terraces of Tangier alike.
