About this plant

The peace lily forms a dense clump of lance-shaped, deep green leaves from which long white flowers, the spathes, rise in spring and often again in autumn, slowly turning green as they fade.

It is one of the few plants to flower in medium light. It shows thirst plainly by letting its leaves droop, then stands back up within hours of watering. It enjoys humidity and does well in bright bathrooms.

A gentle, legible plant, perfect for a bedroom or office.

Care

Caring for your plant

  • Watering

Keep the soil moist: water every four to seven days in summer, every ten days in winter. It handles prolonged drought poorly.

  • Light

Medium, indirect light; it flowers more near an east- or north-facing window.

  • Feeding

Liquid feed every four weeks from March to September to support flowering.

  • Temperature

From 16 to 28 °C; avoid direct air-conditioning flow, which browns the tips.

  • Flowers even in medium light
  • Tells you clearly when it is thirsty
  • Enjoys the humidity of bright bathrooms
