The concept

The guiding idea

A hanging garden facing the ocean: olive trees in large lightweight planters, a pittosporum hedge against the wind, herbs within reach of the kitchen.

The constraint was weight: 180 kg/m² allowed. We worked with fibreglass planters, lightened substrate and integrated water reservoirs. Three multi-stem olive trees frame the view, a line of pittosporum breaks the west wind, and a planter bench hosts rosemary, bay and a lemon tree.

The photographs illustrate the type of scheme described; they are not pictures of the site itself.
