Advice for this space

  1. 01

    Avoid anything that falls in the water

    Small leaves, spent flowers and fruit end up in the filter. Favour evergreen, generous foliage: palms, agaves, strelitzia.

  2. 02

    Account for splashes

    Chlorinated or salt water burns some foliage. Set sensitive plants back from the coping and rinse the leaves with fresh water after busy days.

  3. 03

    Mind the roots

    Some species have powerful roots that lift coping stones and liners. Plant large specimens well away from the pool, or keep them in planters.
